A group under the aegis of Progressives Initiative for Good Governance, PIGG, has applauded the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for transferring power to the Abdullahi Adamu-led National Working Committee until July 2022.

With this transfer of power, the NWC would be at liberty to make decisions that would ordinarily require the approval of the NEC for the next 90 days.

Commending the decision of the party’s NEC, PIGG in a statement by Alhaji Usman Sageer on Friday in Abuja, said the decision was necessary to keep the party united ahead of the general elections.

He said, “The National Executive Committee of our great party with that decision has saved our party from some lawless elements trying to destabilize our party.

“With this someone cannot stay somewhere and claim to be in control of anything . The NWC being a neutral organ has been allowed to run the affairs of the party. I commend President Muhammadu Buhari and other leaders of our great party for this wonderful decision of transferring power to the NWC.

“With this, States like Kebbi , Abia , Akwa Ibom, Sokoto, Rivers, Kwara, and Oyo where we have crisis won’t have problems during the election. This is because the expectations that the state executives will be in charge of tickets is buried. The tickets for all elective positions Would be directly issued by the NWC in Abuja.

“We are therefore appealing to the Abdullahi Adamu-led National Working Committee to be neutral and allow the right thing to do done for victory in general elections ,” the group said.
